Bopiliao Historical Block

What to Love－
Bopiliao Historic Block portrays some of the oldest and most historical architecture in Taipei. With history dating to 1799 when it was first known as “Fupiliao” (福皮寮街), this street has since been revamped, and officially opened to the public in 2009. Today, it serves as a tourist attraction and popular culture site with traditional shop houses from the Qing Dynasty, and buildings constructed during the Japanese occupation.

The Water-Moon Dharma Center (水月道場) at the Dharma Drum Mountain Nung Chan Monastery (法鼓山農禪寺) in Beitou is a popular tourist attraction featuring an attractive, mirror-like pool in front of the grand hall, reflecting clouds, sky, and the pavilion behind. The new center, opened at the end of 2012, was built in the spirit of a six-word concept laid down by the founder of Dharma Drum Mountain, Master Sheng Yen (聖嚴法師), which states that the facility would be like a “flower in sky, moon in water”(空中花，水中月).
